Staying up all Night

Hey guys! Heather here. :o) It is currently 3:30 in the morning and I am still up doing homework for my saturday class which STARTS in 4 hours and 30 minutes... that means I have to leave in 3 hours and 30 minutes for it...which means I need to get up in 2 hours 30 minutes. Yeah, I have concluded it is a no-sleep night (It has been a long time since one of these). So, taking a break from my oh so fun (NOT) DAP observation write-up, I thought I would let you know what we did for date night on Friday, 4/24/09.

I don't know if you know this, but there is an international honors society for the community college level called Phi Theta Kappa. I was invited to join the organization because of my GPA at Palomar, and since it is a lifetime membership, I accepted the offer. Friday night was the induction ceremony so Nick and I went to it as our "date night" adventure. The ceremony itself was nothing to write home about. I will post a video when I have more time (short one, I promise) but basically I said the oath, blew out a candle, signed my name in their book, and got a carnation. That was the process to get inducted. Now, I know there were specific meanings for all those things but since it is 3:30am and my mind is running off of Mountain Dew I don't have a clue what they are. The induction part of the ceremony ended and we played a game of Jepordy before we were dismissed (an hour early!).

Nick and I hit up the Old Spaghetti Factory on the way home for some AMAZING dinner! I had a half/half pasta dish with half mazithra cheese and half white clam sauce. Nick had half ravioli half spaghetti. We both were too full to finish so we took home about half of our dishes. They feed you SO much there... like we got soup or salad (I got salad and Nick got soup), warm bread, the meal itself, spamoni ice cream, and coffee. We also ordered italian cream sodas and got to take home 2 special 40th anniversary edition glasses. They have changes the glasses since I took home my last one. That just shows how often I go there!

After dinner we came home (got home about 10pm) and I have been doing homework since. Ah, the life of a college student. :o) My husband is peacefully sleeping and I wish I were with him. Oh well, there is always tomorrow right?

That's all for now!

Heather vs. Earthworm

Heather fights a particularly stubborn earthworm while trying to get him out of the dirt and into a science experiment.

Enjoy!

ETA: Thanks sweetie, for showing my true bravery and how dorky I look while making science activities for preschoolers. Story of my life!
